Maddy is a passionate animal lover, who is based on the beautiful North Shore of Vancouver. They are a professional certified dog trainer, having completed hands on certification at the International Academy of Canine Trainers with Amber Cottle. She brings to her training an intuitive nature from years of experience walking dogs, and an academic framework based in research. Maddy uses positive reinforcement methods in her training where the dogs' health and happiness are always the priority.
Throughout her life, Maddy has always felt a special connection with animal companions. She is in constant awe of the endless ways our animals add depth and perspective to our lives. They understand how amazing it feels to be in harmony with your dog, but also how agonizing it can be when your dog is having issues that can be disruptive to the entire household. Maddy is driven to helping clients work through issues they are having with their pup and find solutions that are optimal for the dog and their humans. She loves to help clients strengthen the foundation they have with their dog and create a plan for realistic goals we can tackle as a team. Additionally, they understand how tricky the transition of a new dog can be -whether a puppy or an adopted dog- and provides consultations to aide you through the transition.
If you are looking to work with someone whose whole world is dogs and is dedicated to finding solutions for you and your dog please take a look at Maddy's Mutts' offerings. From private training sessions, to group dog walking offered with the highly regarded North Shore Dog Walkers, there are services catering to a variety of needs.
Based on Vancouver's North Shore, the traditional, shared and unceded lands of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Peoples. We acknowledge that we live, work and play on these lands, and are deeply grateful for this privilege. We enjoy the magnificent landscape we call home from the inlet, all the way up to the top of the mountains and everything in between. Not only us, but we know our dogs love these lands too. It is my mission to first be more aware of the ways in which the traditional peoples of these lands continue to live and thrive here. And second, to be good stewards of these lands.
One way to bring acknowledgement into our awareness is to find out some of the cool things these Nations have going on. Tsleil-Waututh Nation's Treaty, Lands and Resources department has recently completed several marine restoration projects in the Burrard Inlet.
